ALL OR NOTHING

We know that among other things, God is Omnipresent; He’s everywhere and He sees everything. In the book of Revelations, He tells the churches in Asia: “I know your works…” Works are important, they’re like seeds, they determine harvest. God is coming back to judge the world, and we will be judged according to our works, our works will be tested with fire, so I ask you; what are you doing? First of all, being a believer in Christ is only made easy by the grace of God, because “narrow is the path that leads to life”. You can’t walk on this path with baggage or extra weight, that’s why the Bible tells us to “let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us”. See, being a believer is not just about saying that you are one, it’s not about being born into a religious family, it’s more than coming to church and lifting hands and it’s so much more than being active in church; I’ve learned that activity is different from service. When we do it the way God wants, with a right heart and attitude, it’s service, and our service to God is worship. As believers we have the responsibility to let the light of God shine from our inside, God tells us in 1 Peter 3:3 to let our beauty come from inside. What do you do when no one sees you? How do you live when Pastor’s not watching? How do you react to matters outside church?

People can’t see your thoughts but God can, and they are being recorded. What is the state of your heart? These things matter because the building is not the Church, we, the believers are the church, and God is coming for a glorious church; a people without blemish. We know from the signs all around us that the end is here, so we can’t afford to continue to be lethargic, we have to wake up! When you take a stand for God, you can’t compromise; you can’t sweep some things under the carpet. You can’t hold God with one hand and the world with another, you can’t straddle, even the “little” things matter, the Bible tells us to “Catch the foxes, the little foxes before they ruin our vineyard in bloom”.  Do you worship God on Sunday and then “pay homage to Caesar” on Fridays? Do you shed your “cloak of spirituality” after service on Sunday? What about you? Do you keep malice a lot or hold grudges? Do you hold people in “unforgiveness” or let bitterness rule your heart? Do you control your emotions and desires? Or do you they control you? When we talk about self-control, some of us automatically think: “lust”. Sexual desires are not the only thing that needs control; your spending, speaking, reading, eating, the kind of songs you listen to, the kind of things you watch on TV, everything needs control.

Do you tell lies a lot? If you go through the book of revelations, God says several times that no one that loves and makes lies has a place in heaven; their place is outside, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. There is no such thing as a “white lie”, whatever is not the absolute truth, is a lie. Are you proud? God hates proud people. Are you a gossip? Are you the type that knows and doesn’t hesitate to pass around gist about every one? Bridle your tongue, God says we will account for every idle word we speak. We must live holy lives; God commands it and without holiness, no man will see the Lord. If we say we believe, then every detail of our lives must show that we do, we can’t sit on the fence on some matters, we can’t chose the commandments we want to obey, someone said: “the Ten Commandments are not multiple choice”. God doesn’t like lukewarm people (Rev 3:15), He says He will spit them out of His mouth. So think deeply; does everything about you reflect Christ? This is a wakeup call for you and I, we don’t have time to play around; there is no grey area, it’s either black or it’s white. You’re either in or out, it’s everything or nothing at all.
